In 1961, Faema wrote an important new chapter in their history—and in the history of Italian-style espresso machines—when they introduced the revolutionary E61 to the market.

This was the first machine to use a pump to create the standard pressure required to produce the perfect Italian espresso. Beyond that, the E61 incorporated revolutionary features, including temperature-stabilizing components at the group head, establishing Faema machines as iconic representatives of Italian espresso worldwide.

Exactly 40 years after the launch of the legendary E61, Faema released a commemorative edition: the E61 Legend.

The E61 truly made history in the coffee industry, and Faema continues to help you “pour passion into every cup” through these special edition models.

The new version preserves the original design and materials but integrates advanced modern technologies, combining classic craftsmanship with contemporary innovation.

Why is it so unique?

The E61 was the first machine to use a volumetric pump, unlike lever-operated machines. This technology pushes water at the ideal pressure of 9 bar and maintains that pressure consistently throughout the espresso extraction process.

E61 Legend vs E61 Jubile

The new E61 is equipped with an automatic boiler, a volumetric pump, and dual pressure gauges to monitor both the pump and boiler pressure, as well as an adjustable thermal balance system (patented by Faema). The current E61 comes in two variants:

Legend: Semi-automatic version
Jubile: Automatic version with volumetric hot water control and drink selection.
